9.1 The set terminal command

The set terminal command is used to select the image format in which output should be produced, and also to specify a range of fine controls such as whether output should be in color or black-and-white. In its simplest usage, the command is followed by the name of the output image format which is to be used, which may be any of the options listed in TableĀ 9.1.
